WHAT DOES LOW RISK MEAN?
‘Risk’ relates to the likelihood of developing a pressure injury. You can determine the risk of your client but conducting a risk assessment – using a risk assessment tool such as the Waterlow along with qualified clinical judgment and knowledge of the client’s history and underlying condition.
Individuals with risk of obtaining a pressure injury should not use a low risk mattress.

VERSATILITY
The Merit is mostly used where hygiene and infection control is more of a concern than pressure care. For example, a full mobile individual with severe incontinence, or
The Merit is a budget-friendly, quality mattress, characteristic of versatility, comfort, and support.
The Merit 2B has been designed to provide comfort and support for any user up to 150kg.
The Merit can be customised in size to suit any bed platform.
A favourite customisation with the Merit is to use a PVC cover to achieve a 100% waterproof cover, with optimal durability for demanding applications.
CONVOLUTED FOAM
With a marketing leading CNC machine, Forté has the in-house capacity to develop and produce engineered foams that can be used to offer unique features and functions within a mattress.
Each mattress within the Merit has a convoluted interface layer to provide comfort and air circulation. The term convoluted describes foam with a ridged design that has peaks and valleys. Often called egg crate foam, convoluted foam is lighter than a solid piece of foam and allows for added airflow.
HIGH FREQUENCY WELDED COVER SEAMS
Every cover in the facility environment must have high frequency welded seams (as opposed to sewn) to meet infection control requirements and prevent seepage of fluid through open sewn seams. These electromagnetically fused seams protect against risk of penetration fluid as it 100% seal off to prevent ingress of fluid or infection. Forté’s covers are reinforced with additional heavy duty stitching at stress points within the cover.
